Description

Learn to prescribe exercises to clients, properly regress and progress any exercise quickly, adding an infinite number of exercises to your toolbox.

Learning Objectives

  1. Explain the 6 Step Program Design Model, how it serves to allow for proper progression/regression and modify common exercises.
  2. Describe the biomechanical/anatomical relevance for varying exercises.
  3. Demonstrate how this model can serve any program/goal because of the physiological adaptation that occurs with drill manipulation.
  4. Discuss the two primary forms of musculoskeletal stability.
  5. Describe the characteristics of client movement to help quantify successful movement and summarize the concept of a functional continuum.
  6. List the traditional variables associated with a progression and apply motor learning principles.
  7. Identify current client ability level (foundation/function) and develop a systematic progression plan to improve physical performance (strength, balance, movement skills)
  8. Design an appropriate and effective training workout and workout series that delivers results based on challenging athletes/clients to perform progressively more difficult exercises
  9. Provide clients with an outcome-based individualized workout using appropriate regressions and progressions
